Profile of Speaker

Bro. Yu Ban born into a Buddhist family, frequented the Brickfields MahaVihara since young. He has served in the Buddhist Missionary Society Youth Section and was a founder member and EXCO member of the Bandar Utama Buddhist Society. He is a webmaster of several Buddhist websites. He started Dhamma Aid Cambodia in 2006 and Dhamma Aid Asia in 2011 an organization which now supports Buddhist educational activities in 6 Asian countries. An accountant by profession, he now pursues his personal interests, particularly in the study and practice of the Dhamma

The Living Message of the Dhammapada

The Dhammapada is a work familiar to every devout Buddhist and to every serious student of Buddhism. This small collection of 423 verses on the Buddha's doctrine is so rich in insights that it might be considered the perfect compendium of the Dhamma in its practical dimensions. In the countries of Theravada Buddhism the Dhammapada is regarded as an inexhaustible source of guidance and spiritual inspiration, as the wise counselor to which to turn for help in resolving the difficult moral and personal problems inescapable in daily life. Just as the Buddha is looked upon as the human kalyanamitta or spiritual friend par excellence, so the Dhammapada is looked upon as the scriptural kalyanamitta par excellence, a small embodiment in verse of the boundless wisdom and great compassion of the Master.-Bhikkhu Bodhi

12 FEB 2014-CHINESE NEW YEAR BLESSING.

Venerable Datuk K Sri Dhammaratana Maha Theramorning lunch dana n CNY blessing by Venerable Datuk K Sri Dhammaratana Maha Thera.
Prior to the lunch Dana, Venerable Bhante Punnaji gave a short Dhamma talk to devotees.

Venerable Datuk K Sri Dhammaratana Maha Thera perform the string tying to devotees. The string is symbolic and whenever they see the string they reflect on the blessings of the Triple Gem.
